Closer to God

He’s Always on Time

2023 is here!

It’s a NEW YEAR!

IT’S A NEW DAY!

TO PRAISE HIS NAME!

Here we go again! The new year comes around and we set up our resolutions to do better than we did the year before. We set goals and timelines and put forth an effort to change some of the behaviors that have plagued us in the past. Some may succeed but most will simply quit after the first sign of struggle. It’s very unsettling to think about just how easy it is to doubt ourselves. We are capable of more than we could ever realize.

Do you ever stop and wonder why we as believers tend to doubt God so often? We pray and cry out and when we don’t hear anything or don’t receive the response we would like, we shut down. Some may even go as far as to turn themselves away from God completely. Like our resolutions, we push Him to the side and only bring Him out when we need Him. Yet, we question why our prayers aren’t being answered.

Having a relationship with God is as simple as having any regular relationship. It takes upkeep and effort. God may postpone an answer until you are ready for His response. Trust me, the waiting is hard and is not for the faint of heart. It takes a combination of prayer, faith, and spiritual warfare to remain strong enough to wait on God and push through.

2022 gave me quite a few highs and lows but I learned a very valuable lesson.

YOU HAVE TO TRUST GOD NO MATTER HOW HARD THE STRUGGLE!!!

That statement is such a cliché in the Christian world but do we really stop to think about what that truly means.

It means:

  • Placing total and complete trust in God.
  • Maintaining an active relationship with God despite what issues may arise in the process.
  • Being willing and able to make your requests known to Him, then letting go and trusting that He will take care of them.
  • Praising Him through the pain.
  • Reading His word for complete guidance and not leaning on your own understanding.

You would think that that’s something that every believer would already know. Right?

That’s not true. Just as you go back to school to further your education, so the same is when you learn about Christ. You are constantly learning through prayer, spiritual guidance, and personal experiences. These experiences may cause you to question your life and put you in a position to seek help. That is when your relationship with Him is at its most vulnerable place and can strengthen your bond with Him as you learn how to praise, worship, grow, maintain, and fight with God by your side.

Believe me, even as a daughter of Christ, I found myself on multiple occasions:

Doubting Him

Questioning Him

Feeling as if I was being passed over

I cursed and yelled at Him as if He was physically in the room. I lashed out and used my simple-minded understanding as a justification for why He no longer loved me or maybe didn’t love me as much. I thought of any reasoning I could find that would help me understand why I was struggling and why He seemed to refuse to help me.

The devil is crafty! DO NOT let him win!

The devil placed every little bit of doubt in me that he could. So much so, that I found myself in a dark place, unsure if I would ever return to the light.

BUT BABBBYYY! LET ME TELL YOU! BUT GOD!

When God places His hand on you, oh please believe me when I say, He doesn’t let go!

1 Peter 5:6-7

Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

God met me in my weakness and showed up right on time! It may not have been when I WANTED Him to but He came right when I NEEDED Him to. Prayer is powerful and is so important to our fight. When I made the decision to stop making the devil happy and chose to make myself happy by loving my Father, things changed. Trust me when I tell you that this only makes the devil try even harder. Don’t think for a second that your decision to fight harder will make the deceiver stop. It will, however, prove just how valuable you are to God and make every presence that is not of God, think twice before coming for you.

God’s right on time may come in different forms that include but are not limited to:

  • A close friend or family member calling or showing up right when you needed them to
  • A disagreement amongst you and your spouse/partner being resolved when it seemed as if there was no way out of it
  • A bill or multiple bills being paid when you weren’t sure how
  • Giving you the opportunity to start a family when you thought it was impossible

The list goes on.

No matter how mad you may get at Him, our Father still loves you. He still wants the best for you. He held my hand through my struggle and brought me back to life. It is because of that moment with Him that I learned just how to fight and give COMPLETE control to Him. It’s never going to be easy for us and we will have our moments, however, you can rest assured that He will never turn His back on you. So go ahead and take a minute to tell Him how you feel, He’s not going ANYWHERE!

When you are done, throw away every doubt that you had, repent, and ask for forgiveness for doubting Him.

Repeat these words:

HAVE YOUR WAY FATHER

WHEREVER YOU TAKE ME, I WILL FOLLOW

I TRUST YOU COMPLETELY AND I KNOW THAT YOU WANT WHAT’S BEST FOR ME

HELP ME TO FIGHT THROUGH MY PAIN AND TALK TO YOU EVEN IF I FEEL THAT YOU ARE NOT THERE

HELP ME TO LET GO AND GIVE IT ALL TO YOU

YOU WILL TAKE CARE OF AND SUPPLY ALL OF MY NEEDS

Remember:

  • It’s about being disciplined enough to trust God even when your world is crashing down around you.
  • Just because you aren’t fighting for you, doesn’t mean God isn’t.
  • You might think you want Him in what may feel like your weakest moment, but trust and believe He’s watching and waiting to give you what you need.
  • Take time to stop, think, and realize that He doesn’t always show up when you want Him to but as soon as you think that He has forgotten about you, He shows up and shows out!

HE WILL COME RIGHT ON TIME! KEEP BELEIVING!

MAKE 2023 THE YEAR YOU LEARN TO TRUST HIM COMPLETELY

WE HAVE ALREADY WON!

STAY POSITIVE AND PRAYERFUL
